Mostly Fun Stuff

Hello, People!

The timing is beautiful. I talked last time about how God and the Bible are not the same thing. And this last Sunday, the lesson at Bethel was about how not all parts of the Bible are true - how you have to have the Spirit to show you what parts are. Hilarious. Well done. Goes with what I was trying to say last time. And is something I've wanted to post here about before, and didn't think I could do eloquently enough.

I know my last post scared atleast one of you (sorry friend). So here's you some more fun. :P

Click here, and download the sermon of the week. It's only available until the next one's up after the weekend! It's called "Building a Relationship with your Spirit Guide."

Just before my last post, we went to the zoo. I only didn't mention it cuz my last post was already long.

The zoo has peacocks that run loose. I loved that. The highlight of the trip was inching up to a peacock that was sitting on a fence, and sitting down beside him. We sat there looking at each other for a couple minutes, then he turned to hop down. But his tail feathers must've been 4 feet long, and he turned away from me, slowly dragging them across my hip. I put my hand on them and let him slide all those feathers under it. Beautiful bird. Pictures are on Facebook.

D's favorite part was watching the seals get fed. They reminded me of excited puppies, hopping up and down and straining to see at the zookeeper's door. Definitely amusing.

The bottom picture, though sideways, is a pink starfish. That's D's hand beside it.

Sunday was the day that all the organizations in town set up a booth in the park. The main reason they set up is to GIVE OUT GOODIES! (What? Make your reality a funner one.) I scored 2 itty bitty things of lettuce, and about 13 potted flowers.

This morning, I smooshed all the flowers into one big pot, the lettuce into another, and put each of the 7 hot pepper plants I'm going to keep into little pots. Others have been planted in plastic cups to be given away. Tell me if you want some!

I was actually going to keep 6 pepper plants, but one was distinctly a runt. How do you not keep the runt?

The plant picture is the peppers last week.

Also on Sunday, I discovered peonies. One of the women at church grew them in her garden, and somehow I ended up with them. They're big, frilly, and smell like roses. I may possibly have a new favorite flower.

Oh, I guess I should've mentioned that we were at the park because our church volunteers to help all the "boothers" get their stuff from and to their cars. D and I had the 4-7 PM shift.

Weeks ago, I took 11 baby fish, made sure they were all female, and put them in the tank with their mother. This week, I found that 3 are boys. Brilliant. Just great. Guppy gestation is a month. So we'll see.

I started addressing the envelopes for T's announcements today. Family is done and will be sent tomorrow, sans my bro, whose address I don't have. They turned out really cute. They have the same info that E's and J's did - name and dates mainly.

We went to my Lyme doc last week. I don't remember what I told you last time, but it looks like we'll keep going to him. However, he does go to an office one day a month that's more than an hour closer to us. If we could see him there, it'd save us 2 1/2 hours of driving, potentially letting us avoid a hotel.

We were impressed with how careful he was to do everything that could be done for me. We're trying something different. For 50 days, I'll be on a med that limits how much detoxing my liver can do for me. But it'll also keep the Lyme cells from detoxing themselves, hopefully killing off a lot of them. During that time, I'll be on a tougher antibiotic.

The reason I was on a sissier one is because it was the safest to use while pregnant. But conceiving hardly appeals anymore, so we're getting viscious with the Lyme instead.

Oh. Ya know how it'd been 6 months since my last relapse, and so we thought the Lyme was gone? This relapse in early May came one month after the D&C. I hadn't thought about it, but the doc said it surely must've been losing T that did it. It weakened me tremendously, so it makes sense that'd give the Lyme an opportunity. On one hand, we did think it was gone. On the other hand, if it takes that much stress for it to come back, I can probably avoid it.

If I do get a second relapse, it'll be any moment now. But so far so good. I'm feeling ok.

The top picture is not of the sky, but of a rainbow in the clouds. We took it on the way home from MI.

The new antibiotic has the side effect of "bad taste in the mouth." It struck suddenly last night, about 2 hours after I swallowed the first pill. And it remains. And the neighbors are smoking and burning incense. And I taste the things that I smell.

Oh, so get this. I love to go swimming, and to my recollection, I haven't been able to since we married. Packing for the hotel in MI, I had this very clear, compelling thought to pack our suits. I turned toward the dresser, but thought, "That's completely illogical. We're never able to swim." Didn't pack 'em.

So we get to our hotel that night 30 minutes before the pool closed. It was 10:30 PM, but I was bouncing off the walls with energy, and the pool was indoors, heated, and devoid of human lifeforms. Gaaaah!

And there's the magic moment where I realized that thought hadn't come from me. I sat on the hotel bed for 10 minutes repeating, "Logic bad. Listen good. Logic no go swimming. Listen go swimming. Logic doesn't work good. Listen is supposed to work good..."

End result? I'm trying harder to listen, grateful God's willing to even tell me stuff like "pack your suit," and we watched the Mythbusters blow stuff up until 1 AM. Bouncing off the walls I tell you. Coulda gone swimming!
